Nemwill Hope International and Avenues were in glorious form in the National Club Championship Playoff last weekend at the Victoria Park. Hope International demolished French Alliance 10 goals to 1 in a one- sided affair while Avenues made light work of Chelseae to run away with a 6 goals to 1 win.


Last Friday evening in the opening encounter of the Club Championship Playoff, System 3 and Parkside Rollers played to a nil/nil draw in Group A. In the second game of the evening the sprinkling of spectators were nourished with some impressive showing of good football skills from Avenues as they defeated Chelseae in Group C. Myron Samuel converted 3 goals, Damal Francis 1, Romano Snagg 1 and an own goal added to Avenues collection of 6 goals. Samuel Williams scored the lone goal for Chelseae.


On Sunday Stingers defeated Greggs, 4 goals to 3 in Group F. Omoro Hamilton, Kevorn Samuel, Kyron Prince and Rohan Martin all scored 1 goal each for Stingers while Damarie Fairbairn 2 and Roman Rawlins 1 scored for Greggs.


In the second game on Sunday evening spectators had lots to cheer about as Nemwill Hope International displayed a good quality brand of football to leave French Alliance in disarray. It was a Group D encounter of which Hope International proved that they were better organized by far, scoring 10 goals to 1. Shorn Glynn 4, Cornelius Stewart 2, Nicholas Williams, Dwane Dennie, Reginald Douglas and Jumma Jilkes 1 goal each all contributed to Hope inspiring performance. Jamol John converted the single goal for Alliance.


 In the third game of the evening Jebelle FC defeated Toni Store Jugglers, 2 goals to 1 in Group B. The game was being played at a fast pace, Jugglers took the lead with a goal converted by Kirtland Williams. Bertram Pitt equalized from the penalty spot for Jebelle to send the teams off at half time locked at 1 goal each. In the second half of play Stephen Harry scored goal number two to give Jebelle the lead and the eventual victory.


Gabba Boys and United Force both Bequia based clubs were expected to match their skills in Bequia yesterday (Thursday 23 April, 09) in Group D.
